This tut will teach you how to make basic fractals in Apophysis:

You will need:
Apophysis

When you open it up, it should look something like this.

This window is the preview window. It shows what your picture will look like.

This window has presets in it. Click them and wait a few seconds for them to load. They will appear in your preview window.

To edit the pictures to make them your own, click this button or hit CTRL+E.

Then this window will pop-up.

One way of changing the pics are to drag the endpoints around.

Another way is to move the triangle by dragging it around.

These changes will show in the preview window in the renders box or when you click out of it...in the bigger one.

Once you have it looking nice, hit CTRL+R to have the render window pop-up. To change the size, either use the menu or type in your own size. Remember to have the "Maintain Aspect Ratio" checked or it will go out of proportions.

To change the quality, change the percent. The lowest you probably want it to be is 500 and I usually use between 2000-3000%. Of course, this will take longer, but it will be much nicer quality. And when you render, the graininess will go away as long as your quality is good enough.

Then, hit the "Render" button and it shall render. At the bottom of that screen, it will show how much time is remaining. At first it will go down quickly while it calculates the actual time that it will take. I recommend that you look at a clock, or set an alarm, and come back after the given time. Rendering will usually take anywhere between 15 minutes - 3 hours. But it will usually be about an hour. NOTE: This depends alot on your computers speed.

There you have it, be sure to check out other tuts about how to color this once rendered.
