Happy Thanksgiving

Discuss here the copious amounts of food that you unceremoniously shove into your gullet on this extremely glutonous holiday.

Also, what are you thankful for?

Personally, I just woke up and am beginning the preparation of my turkey, I'm in charge of cooking it this year. It's a 16-pounder and it's purty. I'm also making mashed taters and I made my grandma's famous jello mousse. We'll also have pumpkin bread and sweet potato pie and maybe greenbean casserole. Unfortunately, I work 11 to 3, but the turkey'll be done at about the time I get home.

I am thankful for the fact that although I am 2000 miles from my real family, the friends I'm living with have taken us in and become just like a family, and for the fact that I have a job.

So, how about you?

I put plenty of salt on my taters when I make them. I made 5 pounds for the thanksgiving dinner at work and I put a whole stick of cream cheese, and 3 sticks of butter...

As for my dinner, my turkey came out awesome, as did my tatoes, jello mousse, and gravy (homemade gravy...) My roommate made sweet potato pie, which I don' particularly lik, and it was awesome. She also made stuffing, which I also don't like, and which was also awesome. I didn't get to try any of her pumpkin bread, I was about to di by the time dinner was over.

Overall it was a very nice thanksgiving dinner and it's given me more appreciation for what my mom does every year. I started prepping the turkey on monday night!

I thought I'd let you guys know how busy I've been over the last week or so:

17th: Off, I had to deliver the work I've been doing for my dad
18th: Work 3pm-11pm
19th: Work 10:30am-7pm
20th: Pay credit card bill, Pay Abbey bill, Work 4pm-midnight
21st: Work 3:30pm-midnight
22nd: Work noon-8:30pm
23rd: Off, wake up early to make mashed potatoes for HEB thanksgiving dinner, stay at HEB all day (waiting for ride), go grocery shopping at night.
24th: Work 6:30am-3pm, make Jallo Mousse at night
25th: Wake up at 8am to prep turkey, work 11am-3pm, get home and cook turkey, cook gravy, cook mashed potatoes, set table, eat...
26th: Off, freaking RELAX!

I'm done.

Oh yeah:

27th: Work 4pm-midnight.

Very nice. Glad to hear you were able to manage your own thanksgiving with some friends and family. I always make a spinach casserole: spinach (obviously), sour cream, cheese, and onion powder. Very tasty and relatively good for you.

That sounds tasty, but I've found that the only time I can eat cooked spinach is from Jaspers, any other time it's just gross. I prefer raw spinach.

Nice! My mom made a similar spinach dip and it was pretty awesome.

I went to Knott's Berry Farm with my family and girlfriend for Thanksgiving. It's a rollercoaster theme park. Had a good time. Also had dinner at both my girlfriend's place and my parent's. I think I ate my own weight in food. Good times.
