Since I am either blind or there is no review for this game, I guess I will write one.
Mass Effect 2 is a must buy if you played Mass Effect 1.
Mass Effect 2 begins 2 years after ME1, because you (commander shepard) dies. His ship is destroyed by a foreign alien vessel and he drifts off into the cold reaches of space. The pro Human anti Alien company, Cerberus, finds you and reconstructs you. That's where you start working for them and getting new squad members, you find out that you are investigating disappearing colonies. Not just any colonies but human colonies. Entire populations of humans are disappearing and no other race is with them. You must stop this.
Your decisions matter. You can load your ME1 character into the game, and choices you made in that game will affect you this time around. You can even die at the end of the game if you aren't careful. Also in ME1 you can have a crew member be your lover. Well you can in ME2 also, but it won't be the same person; HOWEVER, if you decide to -fizzel- your assistant in ME2 be warned that either Ashley or Liara will be pissed in ME3.
Other than the wonderful story, the gameplay itself is quite amazing. It is alot more simple and resembles gears of war in it's cover system. Now instead of finding better weapons and armor all the time, you find research-able upgrades. You use ores found during missions or while mining planets to make the upgrades. Armor is directly changeable. It has parts that swap with others. But you can't change the armor completely. Another thing I like is Party leveling, meaning everyone levels together. Even the people you don't use. So no more grinding.
The game is a lot more simple. I like that. It's like they are handing you a steak and saying "You could have done all the stuff like mushrooms, onions, A1, bleu cheese, and salt and pepper, but we thought you might like it with just a few of those. So we didn't throw it all on your plate."
The only complaint I had with anything, was the dialogue. No, the voice acting was fine. It was the selection wheel. Sometimes it would say something like "I don't agree" and Shepard would end up pulling out his gun and saying "I could kill you where you stand" which are completely different in my opinion.
All in all, I give Mass Effect 2 a biased 9.5/10 _________________

I havent beaten Mass Effect 1.
Nice review, never got into ME1, but it was quite fun. I'll add the spoiler tag. _________________

That isn't the end of ME1. It's an in between event.

I think Comander Shepard dieing sounds like an end of the game event. But, alas, if it isnt, you may take away the spoiler tags. _________________
