Post subject: Field of View
I did some MORE research in ODST and found something very interesting. Halo 3's FOV is 70 degrees. ODST's is a whopping 100 degrees! The vertical field of view is 58 degrees.
ODST's field of view is MUCH larger than Halo 3's. This is actually a good thing, for more than one reason. Having a larger field of view helps you be able to see more in a single screen, basically simulating peripheral vision. Another reason is that a larger field of view helps prevent the player from getting seasickness or dizziness while playing.
Again, this helps me with making Spherical Panoramas. I might make one in ODST, not sure though. _________________

The problem that I explained to Poisonblood and Master Zealot is that you can't make film clips in ODST. I need a film clip so I can exit the film and go back and have my camera in the exact same position. I could overcome this by using pan cam and slowing the camera down enough to reposition my camera manually, but that's sort of a pain in the arse.
The reason I'd have to exit the film is because making a spherical panorama using my new method requires taking 156 screenshots. Since in Halo 3 and ODST you can only have a max of 50 screenshots, I have to leave and restart the film 3 times to delete my screenshot cache.
I hope Reach will fix this, I'll explain how I think they will, based on something they said in last week's Weekly Update, in the Reach section. _________________
