Post subject: Unboxing the Limited Edition |

|
Ok, so here I am waiting outside my local Gamestop along with a few other dedicated gamers (I think there wer eonly 8) and 4 Gamestop employees. They let us in the mall at about 10:30, letting us warm up and enjoy some nice random chatting. We talk about everything from games to machinima to girls (this conversation was limited because Carissa was there) and everything in between. AT 11:45 they started letting us into the store to pre certify our order, putting a red sharpie mark and a yellow sticker on a new receipt. My clock said 11:59, but that was good enough for them, and me being first in line, I walk in and in less than 30 seconds walk out with my Limited Edition box, a Prima hints book, and the special Halo Wars Flaming Hog download code.
And I start the walk home. It was a fairly short one, all things considered. I get home and the first thing I do is rip off the plastic wrapping and dump everything out on my couch. Inside is another hints book (because I need 2 of them...) and another box containing a Spirit of Fire patch (it's a glass cling, sticks to glass,) a few cards showing info and bios on the main characters (Capt. Cutter, Prof. Anders, Sergeant Forge, Arbiter, Brute Chieftain, and Prophet of Regret [pictures of these cards later...maybe],) and a small book entitled "Halo Wars: Genesis" which seems to be a graphic novel. I didn't read it yet.
Ok, so immediately I start up my xbox, take Halo 3 out of the tray, and go into Marketplace to Redeem ode. I download the Limited Edition exclusive Honor Guard Wraith Tank, then the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack, then the Flaming Hog. Then I open up the other box containing the extras I listed above. It's sealed with a little Spirit of Fire sticker, but that easily came off (I stuck it to my computer.) I take out the Spirit of Fire patch and put it on the front right corner of my desk's glass top. It looks great there. Then I open the little plastic protector that holds the cards with the info about the main characters. I read them all, of course. The cards shows info about that character and that character's special items for Skirmish mode. Funny thing I notice is that on of the Brute Chieftain's special Skirmish items is a Chopper. The picture they used for the chopper is from Halo 3. This picture in fact. Also, under the description for the Chopper, there is a spelling error. I think it's supposed to say "Target" but it says "Targe". Funny stuff.
Anyway, I didn't read the graphic novel yet, but I figured I'd post this as a primer. Most of you should already have gotten the game, so you'll know all this, but wo better to post content like this than teh Admin?
I'll edit this when I have pictures/more to write/maybe some videos. Keep checking. _________________
