Baby's a Comin'

I'M GONNA BE AN UNCLE!!!

I'll edit this thread when there are developments.

Sunday 9:23 am: My brother texts me saying they're going to the hospital, she's having contractions.

Sunday 12:49 pm: They're sent home, the contractions aren't close enough together.

Monday: Nothing.

Tuesday 1:16 am: They're going back to hospital, contractions are 5 minutes apart and lasting 1 minute.

5:35 am: She got the epidural.

6:30 am: My brother calls me telling me to call my dad to pick us up.

6:34 am: I call my dad, he's on his way, ETA 45 minutes.

8:00 am: Call from dad, he's stuck in traffic, ETA 10 minutes.

8:12 am: Call from dad, he's at the stoplight for the turn onto our road, ETA 30 seconds.

~8:30 am: Arrive at hospital, meet up with my brother, get food.

~9:45 am: Brother is going to take a nap, I'm going to smoke.

~10:30 am: Been talking with Mary and Linden, going to have another smoke.

1:55 pm: The things you hear in the birthing center: "I hear someone gave away their post-partem hemorrhage card." Lulz ensued.

4:00 pm: She's dilated to 9 cm, she'll probably start pushing in the next 45 minutes.

4:58 pm: My brother and dad are getting some food, her dad came out of the room to tell us she started pushing.

6:19 pm: Hayden George Smith is born. 7 lbs 6 oz, 21 inches. He is an absolutely beautiful baby. I'll get some pictures up when I fully wake up.

7:20 pm: I held my nephew for the first time.

No, I read the title "Babies O' Comin." and thought he would be the daddy. Then, of course, after reading a few words of the actual post I realized he was an uncle.

I knew that would be the first reaction, but I couldn't think of a better title.

I updated a little more, 4:58pm and on. My phone died so I was unable to update this last night, but I wrote it all down. I'll get some pictures up when I'm properly awake. I woke up at 7:30 am on Monday and went to bed at around 4:30 am (tuesday), then I got a text from my brother at 5:30 am, and a call at 6:30. I was at the hospital from 9 am to about 9 pm. You know what, though...it was worth it.

I cried like a little bitch. Holding this hour-old baby, he was just looking up at me, it was incredible.

I still need to get pictures up, I just have to fix my stupid internet issues.
